  1. What did you do this past week? This past week school really kicked into gear for me. I rewatched some lectures and read a lot for my classes to make sure that I started off this semester on the right footing. I worked on the Collatz project and am currently in the process of getting it all ready for submission. Also, in my downtime, I played some video games and watched some Netflix as well.
  2. What’s in your way? I’m currently really busy with school and preparing for recruitment and trying to land an internship, but I’m trying to manage my time and spend it as wisely as I can.
  3. What will you do next week? I will hopefully get my assignment for this class submitted before Monday at 10 pm, and then I’ll start working on my coding assignments for another class. I’m also going to work on applying for internships and practicing interview problems so I can feel prepared in the event that I get an interview.
  4. What was your experience of Collatz, the starter code, the makefile, its optimizations, and exceptions? (this question will vary, week to week). The whole Collatz project has taken a while for me to grasp, mainly because of the process involved with CD/CI and pipelining and making sure that I do that properly. The optimizations were fairly straightforward and not too painful to implement, and the exceptions proved useful for them as well.
  5. What made you happy this week? Cabo Bob’s. Also, I was able to see my parents for the first time in a while today so that was really nice!
  6. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? My tip of the week has to do with interview preparation. I’m sure everybody knows about Hackerrank and Leetcode, but I’ve been using a website called CodeSignal which I really enjoy. It offers several different types of modules or categories for problems, and you can select interview prep, which difficulty questions you want, how long you have to prepare, and it even divides problems into specific categories based on which concepts they use so that you can practice the things that you are weak at. Anyways, if you have some free time this week maybe check it out!
